Why Choose Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is not just about relieving pain, or patching over symptoms, it is about getting to the root of the problem. Traditionally, many health care providers have looked for solutions to health from outside the body. However, science is now validating an “inside-out” theory of health, one that has been the cornerstone of chiropractic for over a century.
Chiropractic care aligns and balances the spine, allowing the Central Nervous System to work freely and the body to heal effectively and fully. Because our nerves control our entire body, interference can result in a wide range of conditions, seemingly unrelated to the spine. Alignment is made through gentle, specific adjustments made by a qualified Chiropractic doctor.
The earlier a problem is dealt with, the better the result, as such we actively encourage patients to have not only theirs, but their children’s spines checked. Babies and children often have the most to gain from chiropractic care as spinal problems tend to compound with age.
Specific chiropractic adjustments over time remove interference on your spine. Remember, symptoms are not an absolute indicator of the presence or absence of a problem, just part of a larger “jigsaw” of health.
Meet Your Local Doctor of Chiropractic in Linton: Ed Groenhart
I came into chiropractic after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School. Having decided to use my new qualification as a springboard into a promising new profession, I enrolled on the Master’s Chiropractic course at the University of Surrey, Guildford. In 2001, after five and a half years’ of university study I was finally able to register as a chiropractor on the newly-formed national register.
I am now an Executive Committee member of the United Chiropractic Association, member of International Chiropractic Paediatric Association, and have held full registration in Australia as well as the UK. I have spent time working in practices around the south-east of England, as well as in New South Wales, Australia. (I also enjoyed travelling the country along with New Zealand and South America). In 2014, along with my wife and partner, Jo, I sold our practice outside Nottingham in order to move closer to our family in East Anglia. We now live in Lovely Linton with our sons, Isaac and Oakley, and our dog, Izzy.
I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing chiropractors (and other health professionals such as Dr Steve Peters) over the years, which has developed my interest in Chiropractic as a means of optimizing performance and health. As a result of this I have worked at events all over Europe, and have had the pleasure of helping professional and elite athletes such as boxers, track & field athletes, ice skaters, footballers and badminton players to achieve their goals. I have worked with many clubs and players, including those at Peterborough United FC, Notts County FC and the Great Britain Masters’ Athletes. Whilst practicing in Nottinghamshire I saw many families, with patients aged 0 to 94 years.
My outside interests revolve around sports and the outdoors – I am a keen tennis player and enjoy running: I have run over 10 half-marathons as well as the London and New York Marathons. I spend a lot of my spare time with my family running and walking. I am also a season ticket holder at Ipswich Town FC (for my sins). Naturally I receive chiropractic adjustments regularly as part of my healthy lifestyle, and also have frequent massages to help me stay 100%. I look forward to meeting with you.
